William Morris SV Strawberry Thief Doublet Opal Ring

"Strawberry Thief" is a textile created in 1883, incorporating colors other than indigo, such as red and yellow, into indigo discharge printing. It required advanced techniques and a long time to complete, with each color being dyed, printed, and discharged separately.

Because of this, it has become one of the most popular patterns, and it still boasts its popularity to this day.

The key parts of the Strawberry Thief pattern, the strawberry and bird sections, are carefully enameled. The petals of the flowers are covered with white topaz, and sandstone is adhered to natural opal, as if reflecting the background color as an accent. I used doublet opals.

The beautiful iridescent effect characteristic of opals is a unique gift from nature.
By making it a doublet, the richness of color spreads out.
