"Strawberry Thief" is a textile produced in 1883 that incorporated colors other than indigo, such as red and yellow, into indigo discharge printing. It required advanced technology and a long time to dye, print, and remove each color individually.

It was worth the effort, becoming one of the most popular patterns and a masterpiece still beloved today for its enduring popularity.

The strawberries and birds, which are key to the Strawberry Thief pattern, are made of meticulously colored enamel, while the background is deep blue enamel. A garnet cabochon strawberry is set with a single stone as an accent.

The strawberry's color is achieved by layering opaque and transparent enamel twice, creating a lovely red and translucent effect. The bird part is given a pale beige glitter enamel so that it sparkles with every reflection of light.

The blue color, which makes the strawberries look beautiful, was perfected through repeated trial and error.

The ring, shaped like an instep, is easy to wear and has an elegant presence even in glamorous settings.

William Morris's Strawberry Thief. This is the most highly recommended jewelry from the William Morris official collection.
